Sod calculator

Add each area, then a waste allowance. This is an estimate for ordering. It is not a price, and it is not a quote from a grower. Nothing you type here is sent to Soddesk unless you choose Start a job, which only receives the square yards and the sod format.

Cuts, curves, and odd edges use extra sod. 5% is a starting point for a simple shape. Irregular edges and steep slopes often need more. Texas A&M AgriLife says to allow a small percentage for waste and does not set this number. The grower's quote confirms the amount.

Big rolls are the large highway or commercial rolls. Both counts are shown below; Start a job gets the one you pick.

Default is our partner grower's pallet (603 sq ft); sizes vary by grower.

Default is our partner grower's big roll (450 sq ft); sizes vary by grower.

Start a job gets the square yards with overage, rounded to two decimals, and the sod format you picked. It does not get a drawing, a pallet or roll count, or a price. You can still edit both on the form. The only grass that form offers right now is Tifway 419 Bermuda. How the shapes are measured is in the measuring guide.
